On behalf of the staff, governors and children of our school, may I welcome you to St Nicholas Catholic Primary School.

St Nicholas School offers children an education which is founded on Gospel principles. At the heart of what we do is offering children experiences that will develop their faith journey. Children worship together, play together and learn together. Through daily interaction they learn about God, the Gospel message and the richness of a Christian life.

We offer a dedicated team of staff who are committed to enriching the lives of children. We take a great deal of pride in offering a curriculum that is stimulating, relevant and exciting for children. Individuals needs are met through carefully planned activities offering each child the opportunity to develop and discover their own unique gifts and talents.

We are a diverse school with children from all over the city and beyond, a range of nationalities and a wide variety of needs. We are highly commended by OFSTED for the way in which children from different cultures are so well integrated within the school.

We recognise the essential relationship between parents and school and have worked hard over the last few years to communicate with parents about their child’s curriculum, their progress and their targets for improvement. Parents are welcome to all Liturgies and Masses and we have many active volunteers who play an important role within the school.

The school is continuously evaluating the effectiveness of its work and standards. We are committed to ensuring we offer an education that is of the highest standard and work with parents and Governors to evaluate actions and develop a strategy for improvement.

Above all, St Nicholas is a happy, thriving school within the city. We are graded as an outstanding school for the care we give children and this strength is testimony to the Gospel values we are founded on.
